Italian terrace motto picked out in yellow

Mentalità Ultras comes out of the Italian grounds and names the attitude behind it: loyalty to the club, choreos, chants, every trip away. On the shirt the phrase sits over two lines, Mentalita' small at the top, an apostrophe standing in for the accent, Ultras large below it, its U drawn like a Roman V.

The V in place of the U

The swapped letter is no misprint. Latin capital script, the kind carved into Roman inscriptions, had no separate U at all. The lettering borrows the same formal language that has turned up on Italian banners and displays for decades.

Yellow on seven shades

The yellow sits on seven fabric colours, from black and navy through red and royal blue to brown, burgundy and kelly green, which makes it easy to match a set of club colours. Four of them carry on to 5XL, the rest to 3XL.

For the ground and the coach

Behind the flag at a home game or on a long journey out: a shirt that shows where the passion came from. With only one ink in play, the lettering stays legible even on the darker tones.

How it is made

Jersey of pure cotton, 185 grams for every square metre, knitted circular without a lateral seam. A rib-knit band sits at the throat and the sleeves end just above the upper arm. Washing is done at 30 degrees.
