M and B are drawn broad in a blackletter face, and where the O belongs sits a round stamp instead. Around the ring runs Viel Feind at the top and Viel Ehr at the foot, while two silhouettes scuffle in the middle. Below the word, the same typeface spells Ostdeutschland right across the width.

An old motto

Viel Feind, viel Ehr is credited to the landsknecht commander Georg von Frundsberg and has been in circulation for centuries. Here it stands for sticking together, whether home is Sachsen, Thüringen, Brandenburg, Sachsen-Anhalt or Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Colours and sizes

White print on black, navy, red, brown, burgundy, kelly green and royal blue. Brown, burgundy and kelly green finish at 3XL; the remaining four go on to 5XL.

Quality of the cloth

Ring-spun cotton is what gets worked here; a square metre of this jersey comes to 185 grams. The tube is formed without a lateral seam, the round neck is bound in rib knit and backed inside with a tape. Thirty degrees is enough for the wash. It is laid out as an adult men's model with a short sleeve.

One typeface, two sizes

M and B belong to a broken-letter face whose strokes taper to differing thicknesses. The same face returns in the word beneath, set smaller there and stretched over the full chest. Emblem and place name therefore read as one unit without running into each other.
