The design is set cleanly: four letters with full stops in a clear sans-serif face, beneath them a shallow arc that bends upwards at either tip, and below that arc the long form in small capitals. Printed white, centred on the chest, no flourishes and no picture. That bent rule is the underline which gives the shirt its name.

Seven colours, one print

The white print stays identical whichever colour you pick. On offer are black, navy, brown, burgundy, kelly green, red and royal blue. Anyone needing 4XL or 5XL should reach for black, navy, red or royal blue; the other three stop at 3XL.

Everyday wear

Because the motif is so pared back, the shirt works under an open jacket just as well as on its own with jeans, or with shorts in summer. Against the lighter tones of kelly green and brown the white print reads more quietly than it does on black.

Two size runs

Four of the seven colours carry on to 5XL while three finish at 3XL, a difference worth checking before ordering if a particular colour is wanted in a large width. Brown, burgundy and kelly green are the three with the shorter run.

Fabric and neckline

Jersey of cotton weighing 185 g/m², formed as a tube, so that no seam runs along either flank. Ribbed banding encloses the round neckline. Care: 30 °C in the machine.
