Taking the hellhound out for a walk

Blonde curls, a white bow, a pale blue dress with frills: the girl looks as though she had stepped out of a picture book from the fifties. Only the dog on her lead refuses to match. It has three heads, each in a spiked collar, and one of them is barking with its jaws wide open. Behind the pair, red and yellow flames rise over green grass, and a striped red and yellow border runs round the whole picture. WALKING THE DOG stands above in red block capitals, with JUST GOT TRIPLE THE FUN beneath it in yellow.

The illustration is the work of Steven Rhodes and is printed by Frechstoff under licence. Innocent drawing, macabre turn: the motif serves irony and vintage styling in the same breath.

Who it is for

Dog owners whose humour runs to the dark side, and anyone who would rather watch a horror film than a romantic comedy. Walking a three-headed dog does at least tend to keep the neighbours polite.

Grounds and sizes

White, black and navy run S to 5XL; burgundy and natural run S to 3XL. The straight body offers eight steps in the first three shades and six in the other two.
