Grabbing A Cold One Men's T-Shirt, Comic Print
Comic shirt with black humour: Death in a long robe pulls a trolley out of the cold store in a mortuary, with Grabbing a Cold One lettered in teal. Cotton, short-sleeved, regular fit, round neck. White, navy and black reach 5XL; brown and pale blue stop two steps earlier.
A macabre beer pun drawn as a comic panel
To grab a cold one normally means to fetch a beer. This shirt takes the phrase another way. Inside a square panel with a black border, Death stands in the cold store of a mortuary, a skull under the hood of a long blue robe. One cabinet is open, and on the trolley in front of it lies a shape under a blue sheet with bare feet showing and a tag on one toe. Grabbing a Cold One is lettered top left in a flowing teal script.
Drawn in black, white, grey and blue, as clean as an old comic. Steven Rhodes made the original, and it appears here as a licensed design. For people with a macabre streak, and a talking point at any bar.
Shades and making up
The panel is framed and sits identically on every shade. Frechstoff picks ring-spun cotton throughout, short sleeves, a regular fit and a ribbed round neck with a nape tape; wash at 30 °C.
There are 185 grams per square metre of cotton jersey in the shirt, knitted without side seams. White, navy and black give eight widths in the straight cut, brown and light blue six. Blue, white, grey and black keep the palette plain and give the panel its vintage pull.
