ENTZÜNDET stands along the top in narrow orange capitals. Directly beneath it a yellow beer bottle tips over and its contents shoot out in a jet that twists into a wild whirl. The vortex circles a black oval holding the words Den Tornado in flowing yellow script. Splashes and drops fly around the bottle. ENTZÜNDET sits on a slight arc and its letters fray at the ends. The whirl is built from many separate strokes that close into a broad ring around the oval lower down, while the bottle itself lies almost horizontal.

Entzündet den Tornado means light the tornado. It is a shout that opens an evening rather than a description of anything on the label.

From quiet to whirlwind

Reserved all week and unstoppable by Saturday: that is the type this shirt is cut for. It belongs at a stag weekend, a school leavers' party, a festival or a pub crawl where somebody gives the word to start.

Yellow on solid cloth

Two yellows, one orange and a deep black make up the entire print. The black oval needs a coloured ground to work: on red, burgundy and navy it separates clearly, on white it reads like a sticker, and on black the yellow outline of the whirl takes over the boundary.

Cloth and cut

Frechstoff knits this jersey from ring-spun cotton as tubular goods, leaving both flanks unseamed. At 185 g/m² this is thicker stuff than a thin summer shirt. Short sleeves, a rib-trimmed neckline, a tape inside. Four of the colours climb to 5XL, black, navy, red and white; burgundy is capped at 3XL.
