Sauna und Bier Men's T-Shirt, Bucket and Glass

The stave-built bucket prints in a coarse halftone dot screen, the way a picture looked in an old newspaper, handle included at the side. In front of it to the right stands a tall curved beer glass, filled to the brim and topped with white foam. SAUNA UND BIER arches above, DARUM BIN ICH HIER sits smaller beneath, both in cream white capitals, each with a rule underlining it. The upper line follows a shallow arc while the lower one stays level; both rules are bevelled at their ends. Bucket and glass overlap in the middle, the glass in front, hiding part of the staves.

Sweat first, then top up

Whatever the steam takes out has to go back in, or so this shirt argues. It belongs in the changing room of a sauna club, in a cabin on a winter holiday, and on a spa weekend with friends where the quiet room turns into a bar sooner or later.

Picture and lettering kept apart

The design sets two pictorial elements in browns and golds between two bands of cream white type. On black, navy and brown the backdrop of the picture all but merges into the cloth; on red and sorbet its edge stays visible.

Five shades across the range

Red, navy and black reach 5XL, sorbet and brown reach 3XL, and every shade opens at S. The jersey carries 185 g per square metre over all of them, which equips the shirt for an ordinary day, the walk home after a session in the heat, and a layer beneath a sweatshirt.
