The print imitates an old brewery label. A glass with a head of foam stands in the middle, framed by two sprigs of barley and a burst of rays. Ornaments curl in from either side, and two banners carry the middle of the sentence: DA MIR KEINER at the top, DAS WASSER REICHEN and KANN REICHT on the banners, MIR EIN BIER large at the foot.

What the German line says

Word for word: since nobody can pass me water, pass me a beer. The idiom behind it, jemandem das Wasser reichen, means to be someone's equal, so the wearer claims to have none and orders a beer instead.

The line is for show-offs with a sense of humour, for whoever runs the barbecue, and for anyone who likes opening the round. As a present for a beer drinker it explains itself.

Colours and the size run

Frechstoff puts the gold tones on black, navy, red, brown and burgundy. Those first three open at S and are carried through to 5XL; the two brown shades share that starting point and finish at 3XL.

Fabric

Pure cotton jersey from a tube knit, which leaves the flanks without a seam. The cloth, at 185 g/m², hangs away from the chest instead of clinging, and the dark grounds stay opaque beneath the gold. Ribbed knit edges the crew neck, the shoulder seam is hidden by a tape, and the sleeves stop on the upper arm (wash at 30 degrees).
