Two redheads, two glasses: a shirt for drinking companions

One has a moustache, the other a full beard; both have red hair and a green and white striped top. The pair put an arm round each other's shoulders, laugh and let the glasses ring. Beneath the scene BIERBRO stands in cream capitals on a green bar, drawn in the manner of old advertising posters. Behind the two lies a green rectangle with pale stripes that bounds the frame, and their heads rise above it. The glasses stand precisely in the middle of the picture and touch, with the bar and its lettering joining directly underneath.

A bro is whoever buys the next round

The word mixes Bier, German for beer, with the English bro. The garment is meant for the friend you have stood beside at the same bar for years: for a birthday, as thanks for help with a move, or bought twice over as a matching pair.

Fit and shades

Frechstoff prints the pair on a short-sleeved garment of cotton at 100% whose jersey takes the hand soft and firm at 185 g/m². Looped as a tube, hence nothing at the sides; the fit regular, the round neck in rib knit, and a wash at 30 degrees that leaves the print alone. White, navy, red and black carry to the widest size, with burgundy ending two stages earlier.

Colours of the print

Four tones are enough: green for the tops and the bar, orange for hair and beards, cream for the lettering and the skin, plus dark outlines. On white the image behaves like a poster; on navy, red, burgundy and black the cream lettering stands out most strongly.
