Eight arms, eight drinks: a cartoon for drinkers

The motif takes a German saying literally. A grinning fellow with blond curls, a blue vest and a decent belly throws out eight arms, and every hand is holding something: beer bottles, cans, one bottle with a label. The type is black and narrow, WIE EIN ACHTARMIGER above and EINEN REINORGELN below.

For the one with stamina

The garment is made for the mate nobody can keep up with on a Saturday, and for the skittles trip, Father's Day or the school leavers' party. Yellow and light blue suit the summer; red and white work the year round.

What the phrase means

The German compares a drinker to an eight-armed creature putting it away at speed, which is precisely what the drawing shows.

Sizes and material

Red and white are available across eight widths, light blue and yellow across six. Frechstoff builds it out of cotton alone: a 185 g/m² jersey, smooth and giving wherever it is held, looped tubular, cut straight, a round neck with its nape tape and sleeves kept short, asking no more than 30 degrees in the drum.

The figure in detail

Four arms go to the left and four to the right, fanned out evenly. The head is tilted to one side with a bottle at the mouth. The vest has narrow straps and stretches over the belly, and ochre trousers sit below it. Both lines of type are set at a slight angle and frame the figure above and below.
