Knitted hat and face cover in one piece

At first glance the Troublemaker is a plain black ribbed hat: folded brim, white crest patch with the PGwear griffin at the front. The trick is in the cut. Pulled all the way down it covers head, face and neck, leaving only the two cut-out eye holes free.

Changing between the two forms

Worn as a hat, the brim stays double-folded and sits over the ears, and the eye openings vanish into the fold. For the covered version you unroll the turn-up and draw the knit downwards until the cut-outs line up with the eyes. The change takes one movement and needs no buttons, tapes or zip.

Rib knit

It is knitted in a rib pattern, that is, in alternating raised and recessed vertical ribs. This structure draws itself together and stretches again when the hat goes on, so it lies against the head without pinching and stays firm in either way of wearing.

All black

The New Edition does without patterns, contrast stripes and any extra lettering. The only pale point is the crest patch on the folded brim. That keeps the hat quiet next to a black jacket and unremarkable on the terraces. With no contrast colour, the two cut-outs in the knitted surface barely show while the brim is up.
