Acht Cola Acht Bier Patch Beanie, Thinsulate

Winter hat carrying the Diesel patch

Equal parts cola and beer make a Diesel. Eight rounds of it add up to eight colas plus eight beers, which is exactly how this patch reads: A.C.A.B. with dots across the top, the explanation beneath in smaller, angular type. Those who know the joke grin. Those who do not, ask.

Two print colours, four hats

The patch sits on the turn-up at the front and always takes the colour of the hat. On black and navy the type is red, on grey and Military Green white.

Through the pub season

From the Christmas market to a February away fixture: the double layer with its Thinsulate lining is made for cold days. And because the patch lifts off, the beanie can go out without a slogan on it.

One size, soft handle

There is no size to choose; the knit stretches and settles round the shape of the head. The acrylic is described as soft touch because the yarn does not scratch the skin, and that is what tells at the forehead and the ears. The turn-up can be folded narrow or pulled down well over the ears.

Patch off, hat stays

The badge at the front is interchangeable. Without it a plain dark hat remains, with it a statement. Grobe Jungs also puts the same wordplay on two hooded sweatshirts, a track jacket and a bum bag.
