Not lettering but a time of day: 13:12 stands large and red across the front, built from the square bars of a digital readout. Anyone who knows the code reads the number straight through the colon; everybody else sees a clock showing just gone one.

Red on four colours

Black, grey, Midnight Camo and Jungle Camo are on offer, and the digits stay red on all of them. Over the grey cloth the display looks fresh and bright; on black it comes closest to a screen glowing in the dark.

The quieter way to wear the number

Next to the dice design, LCD Time is the more restrained way of carrying the figure. The bag has one large main compartment, a flat pocket behind and webbing that sets to hip or shoulder.

Four fabrics, one format

Cut from 600D polyester and given a zip on each pocket, the bag arrives at roughly 38 by 14 by 8 centimetres. Call it 2.5 litres, enough for a phone, keys and a wallet. The strap opens far enough for the bag to sit over a jacket and pulls in close enough to keep it tight at the hip. The four versions differ only in their base shade; the red figures stay the same. A pair of jogging shorts in the shop carries the identical digits.
