East Germany & GDR at Grobe Jungs

Here people wear where they come from with humour. Our east german t-shirts pick up images and terms that plenty of people in the east grew up with, as retro designs for today. The designs come from two labels, Frechstoff and Grobe Jungs. They are meant for everyone who still connects something with the Trabant, the people's army and the Hero of Labour, and for those who only know of it from stories.

GDR designs by Frechstoff

Held der Arbeit shows the words in red stencil lettering with a white handshake between them. NVA Veteran is intended for former soldiers of the Nationale Volksarmee: the GDR emblem set inside a red circle, then a laurel wreath, and a skull under a peaked cap placed in front. Der Osten rockt sets a red Trabant between two German flags and tyre tracks.

Mob Ostdeutschland and the bucket hat

From Grobe Jungs comes Mob Ostdeutschland: the word MOB is set in blackletter, the O holds the line „Viel Feind – viel Ehr“, and the name of the region follows underneath. Anyone who would rather wear it on their head takes the Ostdeutschland bucket hat. It is reversible, made from cotton twill, with white blackletter at the front, in black, navy or olive, and in S/M or else L/XL. The crown is flattened on top, the brim is short, and stitched ventilation eyelets sit at the sides.

The shirts are cotton throughout, 185 g/m², cut regular and finished with a crew neck. Black and navy reach 5XL on every design, while the other colours stop at 3XL depending on the design. To go with them you will find windbreakers with individual states and an Ostdeutschland bum bag in the Windbreakers and Bum Bags categories. Shirts for Halle an der Saale and Erfurt stand under City & Regional Shirts.
